Concussion Research and Education
Concussions are a significant problem in sports, in the military, and among members of the general public. But we still know very little about why some people suffer from concussions when others don’t, and what factors affect recovery.
This is a pressing problem.
From 2001-2009, there was a 57% increase in the incidence of emergency department visits for sports-related injuries resulting in a concussion/traumatic brain injury (TBI) diagnosis in people 19 and younger.
With a gift to this campaign, you will support concussion/mild TBI assessment, research, and education in the Department of Psychiatry at the IU School of Medicine.
